In 1932, when Southern Methodist University was only 20 years old, a Newman Club was established on the hilltop campus “to promote religion, scholastic and social welfare of Catholic students of SMU.” This spring, as SMU celebrates its centennial, the SMU Catholic Campus Ministry marks its 80th anniversary.
